Are you looking for something new and challenging to read? Look no further than Mission Impossible: Ulysses. Starting on June 16, 2010 – Bloomsday – the Evanston Public Library will sponsor a year-long discussion series dedicated entirely to Ulysses, one of the greatest novels of the 20th century. As it is in most cases, the greatest literary works are also the most difficult to read. That’s where friends and fellow literature lovers will hopefully come to the rescue. Enjoy the support and encouragement of others on this journey to finish a seemingly impossible novel. When you’re done, you can check one thing off your bucket list, put a notch in your literary belt, and have bragging rights among a select group of book lovers.
Our first meeting will be held at 6pm on Wednesday, June 16, at the Celtic Knot Pub across the street from the library. Subsequent meetings will occur on select Tuesdays through May 2011, also at the Celtic Knot Pub. Be prepared to buy a drink, snacks, or perhaps dinner. See you on Bloomsday!
