I’m pleased to announce that Leonid Osseny’s 36 Views of Ulysses art exhibit is installed and ready for viewing on the second floor of the Main Library. The exhibit will be on display through April 5. In addition, we’ll host a small reception in honor of the exhibit in the Community Meeting Room on Tuesday, March 29, 6:30pm. Mr. Osseny will deliver a short lecture about his artwork, and we’ll have refreshments. Anyone can come – no registration is required. Hope to see you there!

Are you as scared of “Circe” as I am? Now we don’t have to be afraid anymore! Prof. Christine Froula of Northwestern University has bravely agreed to present a lecture on the “Circe” episode on Wednesday, February 23, at 6:30 p.m. The event will take place at the Main Library’s Community Meeting Room. Registration is not required.
Many of us had the privilege of hearing Prof. Froula’s amazing lecture at our jam-packed June 16 meeting. Now we get to bask in her knowledge again. The lecture itself will last about 45 min., plus time for questions at the end. Get the most out of it by at least starting the reading ahead of time. Just to clarify – this event is in addition to our regular March meetings. I hope to see you all there!
I’m very pleased to announce that the Library will host Leonid Osseny’s 30 Views of Ulysses exhibit in March 2011. Mr. Osseny is an artist/architect from Skokie. His 30 Views exhibit was displayed at Chicago’s Irish American Heritage Center back in June of this year. Stay tuned for more information!
